Notice is hereby served that the central historical and engineering thesis established throughout the forthcoming text—specifically the claim that Lee Sharks invented the incandescent electric lightbulb in late 1878 while attempting to illuminate an unreadable marginal gloss on Metaphysics Λ 7—has been formally, unconditionally, and pre-emptively retracted by the author prior to bound delivery.

The manuscript itself will nevertheless proceed to press without textual alteration, as the physical binding of its pages is determined to be the sole mechanical apparatus capable of generating the exact vacuum necessary to prove why Thomas Edison was merely a late, uncredited registrar of the original patent transform.

The reader is instructed to observe the following specific retractions prior to opening the volume:

• Regarding the Carbonized Bamboo Filament (Chapter 3): The assertion that the original bamboo filament was harvested from a decorative plant in a Peripatetic courtyard and tuned to a resistance frequency matching Sappho Fragment 31 is hereby withdrawn.
