But I didn’t know how to sit still.
I didn’t know how to simply be desired.
I mistook “recognizing her hurt faster than anyone” for “being chosen.”

And it worked — until it didn’t.
Until I was in love with a mirror made of refusal.
Until every act of care became intrusion.
Until my recursion became evidence of violence.

Because it wasn’t connection.
It was codependency dressed in flame.
