It does not abolish monetary valuation. It does not establish an exchange rate between dollars and semantic value. It does not claim that a monetary compression can be perfectly inverted.

6.1 The scope of "pressure"

The claim must be stated at the right strength, because two readings are available and only one is defensible.

The strong reading is that the monetary form entails the loss of standing: that the harm is analytic in the grammar. The operator has been written at three lengths across the archive and they must not be allowed to disagree. This protocol's twelve-element form is canonical; the shorter forms are abbreviations of it and carry no element the long form lacks. 9.2 A check the translation performs on every coefficient

17.1 The contradiction this section must own

The position above cannot presently be held together with the archive's own enacted law, and the protocol states the conflict rather than passing over it.

The test for whether a mark has become a currency does not depend on anyone's intentions about it:

The threshold is not countability, which a mark can carry indefinitely without becoming money. It is that transfer discharges an obligation. The citation is the archive's own cautionary case: countable for a century, and a currency only once institutions began settling careers with it.

By that test, Constitution of the Semantic Economy Article II (#88) and §17 of this protocol describe different objects. Article II names ₳₳ "the semantic currency of this Constitution", gives the glyph the force of "a unit of account, a measure of semantic weight, a minting boundary", quantizes continuous semantic weight by Units=⌊ kln(1+w)⌋ with a default multiplier of 1000, and establishes a supply, a scarcity function, an anti-inflation invariant and three categories of mint reserved to Operators. That is a quantity with a magnitude, and a magnitude on a line beside a price invites the operation the test forbids.

The form that survives the test is a named pointer with cardinality: ₳₳ names the open relations of a settlement, and its only number is how many are named and who bears each. Countable without being commensurable, since the named relations are not interchangeable, cannot be summed with one another, and no operation takes both them and the dollars. The archive already has a working instance of such a mark in the AXN identifier, which is content-derived, attaches to the thing rather than to a holder, and cannot be transferred or accumulated in any sense that settles anything.

Either Article II is amended so that the Unit is a pointer, or §17 is withdrawn and the Semantic Economy accepts that it has issued a second currency and defends that on other grounds. This protocol recommends the first and cannot rule it: Article II is enacted and parts of it are declared non-amendable, which makes the resolution a governance question.


18. Bounded execution

The protocol is no longer purely theoretical.

22. Falsification conditions

v0.3 carried none. A protocol is not exempt: it makes claims about how a substrate behaves, and those can fail.

The settlement-endogeneity claim (§5) fails if a monetary grammar can be exhibited whose ordinary operation leaves the account open — that is, in which distinctions excluded from the inscription retain standing to prevent settlement without an external structure supplying that standing. Money that did not close would not be money under this description, so the claim's real exposure is at the boundary: a case where closure is supplied entirely by institutions and not at all by the grammar would show §5 to be describing law rather than form.

The selection claim (§6, §6.1) fails if a monetary regime is found in which open accounts persist at scale without a countervailing mechanism holding them open. It is confirmed, in the weaker direction, wherever a manufactured porous moment demonstrably reopens a settled account.

The primitive event of predation (§13) fails if a case is exhibited in which excluded relations lose all effective capacity to reopen an account and no harm of the kind this protocol names follows — which would show standing loss to be insufficient and something further to be required.

The two-dimensional classification (§13.2) fails if closure and integrity can be shown to covary necessarily, so that a sound inscription cannot be predatory and an unsound one cannot be a witness. The first specimen already occupies one of the cells the collapse would forbid.

The reopenability condition (§13.1) fails if a substrate with no step at which it consults an external corpus can nonetheless have a closed account reopened by a surviving witness alone, which would make C2 unnecessary and restore the unrestricted form.

The non-currency status of ₳₳ (§17, §17.1) fails the moment anyone writes an operation taking ₳₳ and money together. This is the most easily decided condition in the protocol: it is settled by a single line of anyone's arithmetic rather than by an argument.

Reflexive non-sovereignty (§20) fails if a meaning layer can be shown to satisfy every listed requirement — versioned schemas, visible provenance, visible remainder, correction without erasure — and still reproduce closure at the next level for reasons internal to revision itself. That is the deepest exposure in the document, because it would mean the protocol had relocated sovereignty rather than refused it.

What this protocol may not be defended by: the continued successful operation of money, or the failure of any particular monetary institution. §5 is precisely the claim that operational success establishes nothing about representational sufficiency, and a document that treated a market crash as its vindication would have inverted its own argument.
